Mutton Chaap

Ingredients of Mutton Chaap

500 gm mutton ribs
1 teaspoon ginger paste
2 black cardamom
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon clove
spice chili powder as required
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 cup vegetable oil
salt as required
4 onion
2 teaspoon garlic paste
water as required
2 teaspoon red chilli powder
mace powder as required
1 teaspoon powdered turmeric
3 peppercorns
yoghurt (curd) as required

How to make Mutton Chaap
Step 1
Wash the mutton ribs properly and gently then pat dry them using a kitchen towel. Take a large bowl and add curd, mace powder, ginger-garlic paste and salt to it. Mix all the ingredients well and marinate the mutton ribs in it. Refrigerate for sometime.

Step 2
Place a pressure cooker over medium flame and pour oil in it. Once the oil is hot enough add sliced onions to it. Saute the onions well till they turn translucent. Now add peppercorns, water, cloves, red chili powder, spice chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, crushed black cardamom and salt to it. Mix well.

Step 3
Now, add the marinated mutton ribs into the pressure cooker and stir fry for minimum 20 minutes over medium flame. Cover the pressure cooker with a lid and cook till 6 whistles over medium flame.

Step 4
Your mutton chaap is now ready to be served. Serve hot with steamed rice or chapatis and enjoy.
